Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use, and how you can manage them.
Last updated: June 7, 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember information about your visit. Similar technologies like local storage and pixels work in much the same way. In this policy we refer to all of these as "cookies".
2. How we use cookies
PlatoOS uses cookies for four purposes:
- Strictly necessary — required to deliver the site and core features like authentication and security. These cannot be switched off.
- Preferences — remember your settings such as language and region.
- Analytics — help us understand how people use the Services so we can improve them. Set only with your consent where required by law.
- Marketing — used to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and show relevant content. Set only with your consent.
3. Examples of cookies we set
- session — keeps you signed in. Strictly necessary. Expires when you close the browser or sign out.
- csrf — protects forms from cross-site request forgery. Strictly necessary.
- consent — stores your cookie preferences. Strictly necessary. Expires after 12 months.
- analytics — anonymised usage analytics. Optional. Expires after 13 months.
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by trusted third parties that help us run the Services, including analytics, payment and support providers. These providers operate under their own privacy policies.
5. Managing cookies
You can update your preferences at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, but doing so may break parts of the Services. For guidance see allaboutcookies.org.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no industry standard for responding to it, so we currently do not respond to DNT signals. You can still control non-essential cookies via the methods above.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal reasons. The "last updated" date will always show the latest revision.
